Summary
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Surveying and Land Information Technology, specializing in remote sensing applications for environmental monitoring, particularly in mining-impacted regions. My research focuses on geospatial technologies to assess soil quality, the carbon cycle, and ecological restoration processes, all of which are critical to the study of carbon sequestration and carbon management in disturbed ecosystems and contribute to the broader goal of carbon neutrality.
My work specifically investigates the use of remote sensing to monitor soil organic carbon (SOC), evaluates the effectiveness of soil and water conservation practices in post-mining landscapes, and analyzes the spatial distribution of soil properties related to carbon dynamics. Through this, I aim to quantify the impacts of land use changes and restoration efforts on carbon storage and assess how integrated land management practices can help balance the carbon cycle in degraded lands, which is vital for achieving carbon neutrality.
By applying remote sensing data and spatial modeling techniques, my research contributes to the assessment of carbon footprints and evaluates the effectiveness of ecological restoration strategies in mitigating environmental degradation. This work is integral to advancing sustainable land management policies that enhance carbon sequestration and restore ecological functionality, thus supporting climate change mitigation and the realization of carbon neutrality in post-mining environments.
