
Served in the BIOS R&D department of Taiwan and U.S. own-brand system manufacturers. Developed BIOS for various products including PC motherboards, Laptop , and Server products from specification formulation, boot-up to OS (Bring-Up), feature implementation, validation and debugging, mass production (Shipping), maintenance (Sustaining)] and other stages with legacy and UEFI BIOS codebase.
Familiar with INTEL x86 system architecture, and led development of BIOS core technical functions, such as BIOS Pre-OS and OS-level (ASL code) initialization, features like PCIE/GPGPU related functions, Security/TPM, Storage/SATA, EC communication with BIOS, etc.
Experience in BIOS core architecture in cooperating with R&D teams of major chipsets manufacturers (INTEL, AMD, nVidia, Via) to develop new products.
Have many years of experience in coaching and cooperating with R&D teams of major large-scale ODM manufacturers, including initial planning, manpower evaluation and training, division of labor and cooperation models, to progress control after the project starts, performance evaluation, improvement plans/process/SOP implementation after issue deep-dive or post-mortem (after project completion) and long-term co-working models of strategic cooperation, etc.
Have experience in complete planning and management of BIOS post-mass production (Sustaining) R&D team (including domestic and foreign BIOS engineers and ODM partners).
Have experience in formulating, promoting and optimizing and improving BIOS R&D processes (including Process/SOP/Guidance).
Have experience in BIOS quality assurance (QA/Quality Assurance) department planning and management.
As junior BIOS engineer, led BIOS development for server motherboard with first VIA dual-CPU chipsets based on AWARD BIOS codebase, completed development and launched to market at first place.
