Hi, I’m BingHsin from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at National Tsing Hua University.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Information Management from National Cheng Kung University, which has provided me with expertise in both industrial engineering and information management.
For my undergraduate thesis, I served as the team leader, responsible for coordinating communication among team members and managing project progress. My primary tasks involved problem modeling, designing heuristic algorithms, and implementing them in code. Our research topic was "Optimization of the Moving Firefighter Problem considering Fuel Management: Integer Programming, Meta-heuristics, and a Visualized Simulator." Our project won first place in the 2024 Undergraduate Project Competition of the ORSTW. This experience not only strengthened my technical skills but also enhanced my leadership and communication abilities.
In addition to my thesis, I worked on an independent research project titled "Vehicle Routing Problem with Second Visits, Capacity, and Time Windows—A Case Study of a New Food Delivery Service Model." This project was funded by the National Science and Technology Council. I worked closely with my advisor, exploring various solution methodologies through literature reviews and experimental validation. Eventually, I developed an algorithm that achieved both efficiency and effectiveness. This experience significantly improved my ability to tackle complex problems with a flexible and analytical mindset.
Outside of academics, I am passionate about outdoor sports. During my undergraduate years, I served as the vice-captain of the department’s basketball team, participating in numerous competitions. In this role, I learned to motivate my teammates, make quick decisions under pressure, and maintain team morale during tough situations. These experiences deepened my understanding of teamwork and strengthened my ability to make sound judgments under stress.
In my first year of graduate school, besides taking advanced courses, I also worked as a software development intern at Wistron NeWeb Corporation. During my internship, I became proficient in various software development tools such as Git, SourceTree, and Postman, which improved my coding skills. I also gained hands-on experience in a corporate environment, learning how to collaborate with colleagues and report work progress effectively. This internship has helped me identify the courses I need to take to bridge my knowledge gaps. I am still continuing this internship and striving to refine my skills for future career applications.
Looking back on my academic journey, I have built a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills. Through various projects, I have cultivated a proactive mindset and the courage to take on challenges. Moving forward, I am eager to apply my expertise, contribute meaningfully in my professional field, and embrace new challenges ahead.
