I was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and I love caring people by nature. Most of the elders in the family are doctors, especially my father and his two brothers are all orthopedic surgeons. It is very natural for me to become an orthopedic surgeon.
However my road of learning was quit different. I became a physical therapist first and then went to medical school. At because of my interest in Chinese medicine, I have three different medical licenses at the same time: physician, physical therapist, and Chinese medicine practitioner. Three different specialties allow me to look at the same patient from three different perspectives, and provide the most suitable treatment according to the patient's needs.
After graduation, I applied to enter E-da Hospital as a resident physician in the Department of Orthopedics, and I expect to be officially promoted to an attending physician in June next year. Under the education of Superintendent of E-da Hospital: Yuan-Kun Tu and other dear teachers, I had many opportunities to serve patients and performed the surgery on my own, and luckily I also have the opportunity to see advanced treatment of cell therapy applied to knee joints.
Among the many trainings, the earliest operation I can perform independently is total knee replacement. Although I have been taught a set of standard methods, after tracking the results of patients, some patients with good postoperative X-ray but unsatisfactory motor functions. It made me constantly think about how to improve in the past three years, and this process of pursuit also made me decide to choose joint reconstruction as my sub-specialty, and I hope to see different treatment strategies to broaden my horizons.
In 2022, I participated in a joint seminar and had the honor to listen to Professor Takafumi's speech. The professor's speech broadened my horizons for treatment, and I was even more surprised to find that I had the opportunity to learn from the professor in Japan! Sincerely I wish to have this opportunity to be approved by your hospital, so that I can learn from the Professor Takafumi ! Thank you so much
