My name is Fang Shiuan, Lee, and I received my bachelor's degree of Arts in English at Aletheia University in June 2009 in Tamsui, Taiwan. After graduation, I worked as an international salesperson in a trading company and a sales assistant at CCTV manufacturer, then I moved to Taoyuan city to work for KHS Musical Instrument Ltd as a procurement specialist. In 2014, I gain business knowledge and expertise by accounting, economics, and international trade courses at International Trade Institute and then I served for HIWIN group and was in charge of raw material, critical components, and Capex development projects, mainly focus on China, European and American suppliers. In 2020, working as a country purchasing manager for Taiwan at Sibelco Group.
1. Project Management
Every successful project follows the process of initiating, planning, executing, and closing. I showed ability in all four criteria while working at executive office at HIWIN. The high management always assigned me to source and lead critical projects, like sourcing used machines, steel makers, and specific parts overseas, there were many obstacles to occur but those experiences were great lessons to acquire the fast-learning ability to face a changeable environment and tasks. Based on acknowledging the constraints, I am able to navigate problems toward the best solution possible and eliminate unnecessary time and labor costs. Additionally, I am trained of the importance to be prepared in advance and risk-mitigate for emergent situations that may appear.
2. Leadership
As the youngest member in procurement in all companies I've worked, I am open-minded to share all the negotiation skills under different scenarios and cultures, and developed a rebate policy to got annual rebates through negotiation with suppliers, and then was promoted in 2016 to be the deputy manager. By applied and signed up several procurement-related training programs for the team in order to grow them, and did some team building activities. My leadership style varies according to team members' skills and experiences. For members with less experience, I am more careful and detailed-oriented; as for experienced members, I am more collaborative and supportive. For the purpose of fulfilling a new project, I always explain our objectives clearly and encouraged my team members to discuss with me while they have questions. All the things are difficult before they are easy, I am enthusiastic to grow with the team to welcome new challenges.
3. Communication Skills
Being comfortable to use positive and firm attitude and tone to discuss topics with clear timeline and goals. While in a cross-functional team, I spend time on observing them and building connections in advance. I am a goal-oriented team player and get along well with stakeholders by putting myself in their shoes, to find the mutual beneficial way to reach one goal, to think why they care the most. As for the business partners, I demonstrate an attitude that we are looking for a long term relationship suppliers if they are potential and competitive to meet our requirements. Communication plays an vital key with all stakeholders by not only writing emails, but also arranging regular telephone conference in order to build up a strong relationship and get more information about the market from current and potential suppliers.
