Hi! I'm Hanson, I'm from Taiwan and live in Taipei. My mom lives with me, and my mom and dad divorced when I was little. But I still gather with my dad sometimes, and he always says that "No pain, no gain," became my fuel. After graduating from junior high, I made it into Chenggong High School in Taipei. My wanderlust kicked in when I visited Australia on a study tour. That itch led me to join an exchange program in the U.S. during my sophomore year in high school. Living with host families in California and Idaho, I not only attended a local high school but also explored some U.S. cities. The experience was a cultural deep-dive that turned me into a more mature and independent person. Back in Taiwan, I felt restless in my comfort zone and decided to try to go abroad again. I went to Toronto. I studied Sales and Marketing, juggling classes at night with daytime jobs. The hands-on learning and practical skills were right up my alley. Unfortunately, the pandemic struck, and I returned to Taiwan in March 2020. Now, I'm studying finance at National Taipei University. In a nutshell, my journey is about breaking boundaries, embracing cultures, and continuously learning to shape my future.
I worked as an assistant at the BioTReC of Academia Sinica. My working hours were the same as other full-time colleagues. My duties included handling official documents and organizing and inputting some easy Excel. Due to there are many foreign researchers in the center, I also utilized my language skills to assist them when they came to the administrative office for official matters.
