I am an experienced Analog IC Design Engineer with over 10 years of analog IC design experience. As an analog design engineer, I have worked on different analog circuit building blocks, including phasedl-lock loop (PLL), audio digital-to-analog convertor, bandgap reference, low-dropout regulator (LDR), RF power amplifier, RF transmitter, and RFID rectifier. In addition, I have cooperated with design teams in different countries, including America, Canada, and China. I have plenty of experience in designing analog circuit building blocks, floorplan on mega analog blocks, and measuring chips.
I received a B.Eng in Electronic Engineering, 1st class honor, in 2007. In addition, I have also received a Master of Philosophy in Electronic Engineering in 2009. Since 2017, I have been pursuing my Ph.D. at National Taiwan University. My research interest is analog, RF and millimeter circuit design. My research topic is concentrated on the design of RF and millimeter circuit building blocks and system integration. I was the person in charge of a project of millimeter wave video transmission at 39 GHz. This project successfully transmits and streams a video to a base station 2-km away from the drone.
Analog integrated circuit design
I was assigned a system integration project by my current research group when I first came to this group, which is about the video transmission system using 39-GHz band. It is a very challenging project. I have been dealing with different difficulty, including assisting on the monthly group meeting, writing the monthly reports and present the researched work, all those are new to me.
But the most challenging is to crack down the technique problem. Only I got are some semiconductor circuit IPs. I have to integrate all the IP to a system, and make the system usable in outdoors, not just working in the clear room. It is very challenge. I need to design the PCBs to program the chips, and control different purchased RF components.
Finally, the project is successfully transmitted the video in 2-km distance. When I saw the image from the cellphone by our professors 2-km away, showing me that the image is transmitted, I cannot forget how happy I was. It is difficult to explain.
