In this role, I maintained full responsibility managing Japan strategic customer issue to drive business success.

Key achievements:

  • Led initiatives with Japan Sales Team to enhance value creation, secured customer's acknowledgment of TSMC's value for a special collaboration project, significantly increased valuation by 30 times from single million of initial estimate to hundred millions, which gave Sales Team a base to limit wafer price reduction during negotiation. This initiative successfully elevate pricing discussion to a higher level focusing on win-win value creation, and the result contributed to consensus building up to CEO level between customer and TSMC.
  • Developed a business scheme for Japan Sales Team to enable a new business model with a specific customer. The scheme provided a baseline to facilitate TSMC's internal consensus building across BD, Sales Team and PMO, successfully mediated internal different opinion toward an aligned position to finalize business deal with customer. At the end, TSMC team received appreciations from customer COO to recognize this win-win cooperation.
  • Proposed a strategic pricing scheme to strengthen competitiveness of a specific customer, secured her leading market position in a specific region. This action reinforced customer's commitments to continuous sole-source partnership with TSMC amid pricing proposals offered by the other foundries. This action eventually brought TSMC new demand to fill Fab and improved utilization.
  • Managed a regular Specialty Technology Meeting for the past 6 years coordinating TSMC's PE, RD, Fab, QR, FTS, BD to streamline internal project communications for an aligned actions to solve issue effectively. This meeting platform covers mainly 28nm/22nm technology.
  • Orchestrated TSMC cross-functional Planning teams to conduct a special workshop with a specific customer for benchmarking and sharing, resulting in an improved understanding between customer and TSMC, which brought positive impact on future business communications in all aspects including Demand Forecast, Demand Planning, Capacity Planning and Production Control.
