Joey Oswald

Having grown up as an international student, I have come to experience various cultures and perspectives through the many people and places I meet in Asia, Europe and North America. I am very very interested in Netherlands for its' international environment, and also an important location with key international institutions.

• 2021 Passed ABRSM piano Grade 8 test
• 2018 Awarded honor student in Cadet Band
• 2018 Awarded honor student in Student Council
• 2017 Awarded honor student in Music Mix

• Taipei European Youth Group (2021-2023)-Publicity officer in Taipei European Youth Club. We organize events and write articles about them. We also do service and interact with various communities in Taiwan.
• Reach-out & Student Ambassador (2017-2023) -4-year member of Reach Out. We welcome new students and help them get comfortable with the school. We attend monthly meetings and activities throughout the year.
• TAS Jazz Band (2021-2023) - As the drum kit and percussion player with Jazz Band, we performed at many events including the opening show of Taipei Lantine Festival. We attend practices every other day.
• MUN (2017-2022) -Delegate for MUN organisations and various committees. Drafted and debated resolutions. EAO (moderator) for TASMUN and jr-OMUN. Organise and moderate debates.Student Ambassador and Reach-out.
• EPQ Reserch Project (2021) -Individual extended project. Wrote comparison and analysis essay on COVID-19 impacts on health system reform in China and the UK. Recieved B in qualification.
• Vice-President of Build the Bridge (2019-2021). We patrol around the neighbourhood to monitor the area. We also attend neighbourhood gatherings and other community programs.
• ELIV Volunteer Organization (2021)- Joined ELIV volunteer program in JiaYi. We did beach cleanup, help with town reconstruction, and visited abandoned towns and residents to understand the local situation.
• Percussionist of Taipei Junior Jazz Orchestra - Joined local music band Taipei Junior Jazz Orchestra. Performed at Nanhai as drum kit and percussion player.
• OCIVA Volunteer Organization - Joined OCIVA volunteer program to take care of pandas in Sichuan Province. We fed the pandas, cleaned the cages, and contribute to research on panda feces.
