As a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), I am actively seeking an entry-level position in the biotechnology field, particularly in roles related to laboratory techniques. • LDH Purification and Isozyme Identification, San Diego, CA, The LDH Purification and Isozyme Identification project utilizes protein purification techniques and electrophoresis to isolate and analyze various forms of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). By separating LDH isoforms, particularly through PAGE, we can assess their structural differences and functional roles, offering valuable insights into metabolic variations across tissues.
• Streptococcus thermophilus CS20 for Fermented Milk: No CRISPR-Related Gene Transfer Concerns for Human Health, San Diego, CA, This project investigates the safety of using S. thermophilus CS20 strain in fermented milk products. By analyzing its genome, we confirm the absence of CRISPR-related gene transfer risks, ensuring it does not pose a health threat to consumers. This research provides assurance in the strain's stability and safe application in the dairy industry.
• Sea Urchin Fertilization and Effect of Ca2+ Ionosphere, San Diego, CA, This project explores the essential role of calcium ions in the fertilization process of sea urchins. By using a Ca2+ ionosphere to artificially elevate intracellular calcium levels, we can closely observe how this increase affects egg activation and the overall fertilization mechanism. This study aims to reveal calcium's critical signaling function in initiating developmental processes in sea urchin eggs, providing insights into similar fertilization pathways in other species.
