Summary

My name is Neo Lin, and I am currently a junior at Morrison Academy Taipei. I have a strong interest in data science, particularly in its ability to extract meaningful insights patterns from complex datasets that others are not able to seen easily. I am fascinated by how using coding programs, statistical analysis, and machine learning work together to solve real-world problems. For this reason, I am eager to explore the various domains within data science—from different areas of science, and engineering, to business analytics or specialized applications in healthcare; I hope these allow me to determine where my strongest interests lie.

Although I am still in the exploratory phase, I am eager to build a strong foundation in data science and gain a deeper understanding of its practical applications across various obstacles and real-life situations. My goal is that I want to identify the areas where I can make the most impact while aligning my career with my passion for problem-solving and innovation!

  • I am interested in this course because it provides fundamental knowledge in machine learning, a key component of data science. Understanding pattern recognition and predictive modeling will enable me to analyze complex datasets more effectively and extract meaningful insights.

資訊擷取專論 (Special Topics in Information Retrieval)

  • This course appeals to me because it explores techniques for efficiently retrieving and managing large-scale data. Learning how to extract valuable information from both structured and unstructured datasets will enhance my ability to work with real-world data applications and optimize decision-making processes.

應用數學與智慧運算 (Applied Mathematics and Intelligent Computing)

  • I find this course valuable as it helps establish a strong foundation in applied mathematics, which is essential for data science. Covering topics such as numerical methods, optimization, and mathematical modeling, it will equip me with the analytical skills needed for effective data analysis and accurate predictions.


By engaging with these courses or anything of that’s similar, I hope to develop a strong technical foundation in data science and gain valuable insights into its practical applications. I am excited to further explore how data science can be used to solve complex problems across various domains and ultimately discover the areas where I can make the most meaningful contributions. As I continue this journey, I look forward to deepening my knowledge and applying these skills to real-world challenges.

I would love to explore how data science can be leveraged to analyze musical patterns, generate compositions, or even enhance music production in any way.
