Dear Management, 

My pleasure to again introduce myself to you.

13 years ago,I was a team player in the technology field. But I press the Restart button on my life, erase my name from the field, and relocate my whole family from the north to the east coast of Taiwan. Please allow me to tell you three things I have achieved in the past 13 years, and it should well express what the character of Phil is and how he has been through all the difficulties.

~ Carry responsibilities after being a father.

Many thanks to Teradyne's blessings and financial support. I became a father during my service at Teradyne as a sales account manager in 2007, and 18 months later, my second child came to join my family. We are a family of four. However, my children's health was not in good condition. Frequently visits the clinic due to a cold, fever, or allergy. As advised by pediatricians, medication is not the best solution for us. We should consider relocating to a place that provides fresh air and plenty of open space for children to experience true childhood. Let them grow up in a healthy environment instead of taking medicine.

It was easy to pretend the advice was not heard, but children kept suffering from illness and telling their parents that a tough decision had to be made. And yes, we relocated to the east coast of Taiwan, where my wife grew up. And yes, my children regained their health; more than that, we all experienced true childhood together. Finally, I understand that responsibilities after being a father are not only to gain more for his family; sometimes less is more by giving up things.

~ Build our own house (with support from architecture and contractors).

Wonderful stories from people to share how they started the project of building their own house from scratch to accomplishment. That becomes my dream to be true, but it has to go through enormous pains and sufferings before the dreams come true. Again, thanks to my working experiences during my service at Teradyne, I fully utilized skills of the sales approach, such as relationship building with contractors, project management, negotiation of payment terms, financial planning, and more, to make sure daily expenses were well covered as well as payments for contractors. The project of Build-Our-Own-house was a great success. The floor area is 100 m2 based on the land size of 295 m2. It has been through several typhoons and earthquakes since its accomplishment in 2017. It remains solid and safe!

~ Survival never complains.

I am grateful to be a team player in Semiconductor Field; however, it was really difficult to give up what had been established before decision of relocation, and what even more suffering is to learn new things in order to survive in the new place where we lived. My working experiences remind me that survival never complains, and complaints never bring orders. I believe core competencies are those with endurance, adaptive capability, and frustration tolerance, rather than just equipped skills and intelligence. 13 years have passed, and I have adapted and survived!

Hopefully my three things to share win your interest. There is a quote, "I am not young, but with age comes wisdom," that brings me strength to re-enter where I was, and please feel free to contact me if you are interested in learning more about upgraded Phil.
