During my time at Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School, I struggled with the decision of which academic track to pursue. In the United States, I had been exposed to courses in critical thinking and philosophical inquiry from an early age, which nurtured my passion for exploring philosophical concepts and engaging in debates. Ultimately, I chose the humanities and social sciences track and successfully gained admission to both the Department of Philosophy at National Taiwan University (NTU) and the School of Law at National Chengchi University (NCCU). After careful consideration and discussions with my family, I opted to study law at NCCU, driven by my profound understanding of how the emerging information and communications technology (ICT) revolution will reshape the structure of human society and industries. I recognized the significant legal challenges that will arise in this context, presenting opportunities for discovery and resolution. Subsequently, I pursued graduate studies at the Institute of Technology Law at National Tsing Hua University, specializing in intellectual property issues. After this, I interned and worked at two well-known law firms in Taipei. During this process, I learned tasks such as providing onsite interpretation of legal knowledge for the audience, proofreading legal documents, and had numerous opportunities to draft and proofread international business contracts. The companies I collaborated with included:Law firms'work on drafting and handling international contracts typically involves international cooperation, investment terms, technology transfer agreements, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring, as well as assisting multinational companies with various legal matters.
