Taishuan Chou

My name is Daixuan Zhou, a.k.a. Rachel Zhou. I studied at Santa Clara University, California, U.S.A. I've been teaching English for 18 years. The reason I've been doing this for such a long time since I love the language and enjoy being with children. I'd like to share my teaching and learning experiences to young generations, make English fun and easy to learn, and have them love the language as much as I do.

In 2018, I took an advanced TESOL course at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), passed the course with an A+ and received my TESOL certificates from both Oxford Teachers' Academy and the American TESOL Institute. The reason I took this course is that I'd like to know what my weaknesses were to enhance my teaching skills to the next level. I'm planning to get an ESL diploma to enhance my teaching career as well.

Next, I'd like to introduce myself. My hobbies are traveling, listening to music, shopping, hanging out with friends and reading. I enjoy eating healthy food in order to keep shape. I'm a hard worker. I work hard to get my job done well. I'm a perfectionist and question/problem solver. I'm capable to work with my colleagues pretty well by positive and effective communication. I'd like to work with nice colleagues in a friendly environment and help students enhance their English speaking, listening, reading and writing as well.

Furthermore, I'd like to talk about my family. My father was an accountant in his business field by the time he was retired. He's the person I always look up with by his diligence and responsibility. He helped his clients solve tax issues throughout his career life. My mother was a general manager at Kentington Resort in southern Taiwan. She was the person who influenced me the most. She always told me to push myself beyond limits and shared mottos in life with me. Unfortunately, she passed away in June 2010 due to the breast cancer, and that was the reason I returned from the States to accompany her for the rest of her life. Besides, I have a sister, who's a mother of an adorable 9-year-old daughter. She is an English teacher at Elite Kindergarten in Taipei as well. My brother is currently working as a graphic designer at Huatai Hotel in Taipei and a father of a one-year-old boy.
