Hello, my name is Joey Yang. I graduated from the Department of
Mechanical Engineering at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, I am 31 years old.
After graduating from university, I joined Hermes-Epitek Corporation Ltd. in October 2016 and worked there until May 2025 as a Customer Service Engineer for Clean track resist coating equipment. My primary responsibilities included equipment block assemble、high position work for layout piping and wiring、hardware / parameters setup and adjustment after power-up、internal line cleaning and flow rate calibration after chemical supply, and troubleshooting. Additionally, based on customer requests, I was responsible for decommissioning equipment—this included draining internal pipelines, disassembling the equipment, packaging various parts, and preparing parts lists to handover for subsequent members. In 2017, due to business needs, I joined the company team for an installation project at TSMC's Nanjing plant.
During my work time, in addition to regular installation tasks, I also took on the role of equipment leader. This involved overseeing installation schedule、confirming factory-side schedules before power-up、communicating with customers regarding chemical and control wafer needs、collaborating with OEM engineers in troubleshooting equipment issues or contending customer's specific requirements, and finally, conducting equipment acceptance with the customers. I was also responsible for recording and submitting the equipment's data during installation to the original manufacturer for future reference.
Over nearly nine years of experience, I not only became proficient in standard installation processes but also learned how to lead both vendors and internal teams through the full installation workflow. I gained valuable experience in effective communication with customers and OEM engineers to ensure smooth operations. Beyond following adjustment manuals step-by-step, I often asked myself questions such as: What is the difference between these two robot arms? Why is this step adjust before the other? Why is the acceptable range for this parameter target this way, and how would deviations affect downstream adjustments? These reflections helped deepen my understanding and improved my abilities to guide new team members.
Looking ahead, I aspire to continue serving as a bridge between customers and companies in different industries and environments, helping to resolve problems and provide service.
